Position Summary
The Field Service Technician represents PDC Spas in the field, delivering hands-on technical service and support to dealers and customers. This individual is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining PDC Spas products while upholding the company's Core Values and protecting the PDC brand reputation.
This role requires strong technical skills, independence, professionalism, and a customer-focused mindset. The Field Service Technician must be comfortable working on the road, managing time effectively, and resolving issues confidently in the field.
Primary Responsibilities
Production Floor & Internal Support
- Assist on the production floor or support Technical Support Specialists during periods of low field service demand
- Maintain and expand working knowledge of all PDC Spas products, systems, and service procedures
- Support assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and quality control efforts as needed
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent service standards and product familiarity
- Stay current on new product features, updates, and service techniques
Customer Engagement & Suggestive Selling
- Identify opportunities to recommend product upgrades, accessories, or enhanced services during customer interactions
- Educate customers on available features, maintenance options, and service plans that improve performance and longevity
- Promote additional products and services in a professional, helpful, and non-pressured manner
- Communicate customer needs and sales opportunities to the Sales team when appropriate
- Support company growth by enhancing customer satisfaction and maximizing service visit value
Field Service & Repairs
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components of spas and swim spas
- Perform warranty and non-warranty service work
- Complete start-ups, inspections, and follow-up service visits
- Ensure all repairs meet PDC Spas quality standards
Travel & On-Site Representation
- Travel to customer locations as scheduled
- Represent PDC Spas professionally in appearance and conduct
- Maintain service vehicle, tools, and inventory responsibly
- Manage service schedule efficiently and communicate updates as needed
Warranty & Documentation
- Accurately document all service work performed
- Submit service reports, photos, and required documentation in a timely manner
- Communicate warranty findings clearly and honestly
- Identify recurring product trends and report to internal teams
Communication & Support
- Provide clear explanations of repairs and maintenance to dealers and customers
- Maintain professional communication even in challenging situations
- Coordinate with Customer Service, Warranty, and Sales departments as needed

Qualifications
- Experience in spa, pool, HVAC, appliance repair, plumbing, electrical, or related technical field
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to lift and maneuver spa components
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Job Description
Requirements:
Must be willing and able to stand/walk up to 10 hours/day, lift 25 lbs. and perform to established standards of safety, quality, productivity and attendance. Candidates must be willing to submit to drug testing.

Customer Service
- Deliver a luxury, consultative customer experience that builds trust and positions PDC Spas as a premium brand.
- Proactively follow up with prospects and customers to maintain engagement.
- Resolve questions with urgency and professionalism.
Expert Knowledge
- Develop and maintain deep expertise in all products, features, benefits, and differentiators.
- Confidently communicate the wellness benefits of hydrotherapy, aquatic fitness, and recovery solutions.
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging wellness innovations.
Sales Goals
- Consistently meet or exceed individual and showroom sales targets through proactive selling and closing strategies.
- Manage leads and maintain a strong and active sales pipeline.
- Identify upselling opportunities including enhanced services for new and existing customers.
- Actively generate new business through community involvement, networking, referrals, and local events.
Client Relationships
- Build and nurture long-term client relationships that drive repeat business and referrals.
- Conduct thorough needs assessments to recommend customized wellness solutions.
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients using CRM tools, social media, and digital outreach.
- Deliver a personalized, high-touch experience that reflects the luxury nature of the brand.
Team Collaboration
- Partner with internal teams to ensure smooth handoffs, accurate order processing, and exceptional delivery experience.
- Communicate effectively with service, delivery, and leadership teams.
- Share insights, feedback, and best practices to contribute to team success.
Maintain Showroom
- Ensure the showroom reflects a premium, luxury environment at all times.
- Merchandise products strategically to enhance the customer experience and sales conversations.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and visual appeal.

- 3+ years of experience in luxury retail sales (experience in hot tubs, swim spas, or wellness products is a plus, but not required).

- Passionate about wellness, luxury products, and providing exceptional customer experiences.
